Oakley’s Ricky Carmichael returned to racing this weekend at Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, MN, and the 15-time AMA Champion did not disappoint. Carmichael won both of his 30-minute Motocross motos to take the overall win. This marks RC’s 150th career victory of his record-breaking career.

RC now has officially retired from all of AMA pro racing series. This however is not RC’s last race of his career on the two wheel bikes; he has committed himself to three more races that are single events throughout the rest of the 2007 season. At the end of those three races RC will still be committed to helping the development of team Suzuki’s bikes and riders and will still help with testing. RC will also be going full steam ahead with his new stock car career and focusing on making it to the NEXTEL cup in the future.

“It was a good race for me; I’ve just been soaking it all up.” Ricky Carmichael said, “You know, this is the end of a lot of things. I’m thankful for everybody that I’ve met, all the great teams I’ve been on and all the people who have been supportive of me. It’s been an amazing ride and unfortunately this is the end. I just want to be remembered as a good ambassador to the sport. I want people to have felt like they got their money’s worth and had fun when they watched me race. I never expected to do what I’ve done this year, much less what I’ve accomplished in my career. I’ve been around some great people, some great teams.”

Motocross Finish:

  1. Ricky Carmichael, Tallahassee, Fla., Suzuki, 1-1
  2. Grant Langston, Clermont, Fla., Yamaha, 2-2
  3. Mike Alessi, Victorville, Calif., KTM, 4-3
