Oakley’s Ricky Carmichael won his second consecutive Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP/Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series race in front of a sold-out (45,050 fans) Angel Stadium.

Oakley’s James Stewart and Ricky Carmichael both got off to top five starts this weekend. Bubba quickly worked his way into the lead on lap four and RC one lap later, made his move into second place. Oakley’s two superstars had the table set for a great showdown and a great showdown is what they gave the sold out crowd of 45,050 fans. RC chased Stewart the next 14 laps, until Bubba crashed with one and a half laps to go while trying to avoid a downed lapped rider. Carmichael rode off to his second win of the season. Chad Reed finished second and Bubba remounted to finish on the podium in third.

Saturday’s sell-out marks the second consecutive sell-out for Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP/Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series racing at Angel Stadium this season.

“I am sorry that I crashed that way and the race ended,” said Stewart. “It was a good clean race, and we have one more stop in Anaheim, so that will be my next chance to get a win in front of these fans.”

Carmichael, who won with consistency and patience enjoyed the tight, clean racing with Stewart but didn’t want to win because of a crash.

“I do not liking winning this way, and it was very unfortunate what happened to James,” said Carmichael. “It was hard to get by him, and it was great that we kept the racing clean out there. This is a dream come true for me tonight. This makes all of the hard work I do during the week worth it. This is what our sport needs: good clean racing.”

I would also like to say thank you to everyone from the “O” that came out to support my sport. And a special thank you to Scott Olivet for his support and encouragement to our athletes. It meant allot to my crew and it will go along way.
