Halfway through the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, Team Oakley has swept three of six podiums and is showing no signs of letting off the gas. Leading the charge is the 450 Class rookie Ken Roczen who extended his championship standing points lead over teammate Ryan Dungey to 26-points with his win this past weekend at RedBud National.
Enduring soft, moist track conditions at High Point Raceway in Pennsylvania, James “Bubba” Stewart still managed a dominant performance, sweeping both motos for his first overall win of the 2014 campaign on the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series. “I was excited about coming this weekend because we made some good improvements on the bike,” Stewart said. “It’s been a while since we’ve had this speed and pace in reserve and I felt comfortable doing it. This track is one of the ones that I’ve had to overcome, but it was nice to get a win. It’s actually the first time I’ve gone 1-1 in a while, so we’ll go back and keep on working and go from here.”
With an impressive showing at Glen Helen Raceway on the opening weekend of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship season, Ryan Dungey sits atop the early ratings. After finishing third in the first 450cc moto, Dungey made a thrilling pass on Ken Roczen just a few turns from the finish in moto two, helping to secure the overall win over a stacked field.
