Nino Schurter

Nino Schurter is a Swiss cyclist and member of the Swiss team at the 2008 Summer Olympics where he earned bronze in men’s cross-country. Schurter also went on to secure the silver medal in the 2012 London Olympic Games. Additionally, Nino has won multiple World Championships along with World Cup Overall victories as well. Nino started his career as a pro mountain bike rider purely by accident. He grew up, the youngest of three children, in a small village in the Swiss mountains.   • Oakley's Nino Schurter Sprints To Victory At Dalby World Cup

    Oakley’s Nino Schurter won last weekend at the UCI Cross-Country World Cup In Yorkshire Dalby Forest, GBR in a close sprint finish. Oakley’s Julien Absalon came in less than a wheel length behind Schurter and placed second. Oakley’s Burry Stander of South Africa rounded out the podium in third. In the elite women’s, Oakley’s Willow Koerber and Katerina Nash powered to second and third, respectively.

    Last week an estimated 8,500 riders participated in the 20th annual Sea Otter Classic. The event is a four-day festival that offers international racing, beginner through professional and includes mountain biking events, such as cross country (XC), downhill (DH), dual slalom (DS), Dual Stunt, Super Downhill and short track.

    Oakley’s Todd Wells won gold at the prestigious Pan American/Continental Championships in Guatemala last weekend. Oakley’s Willow Koerber grabbed gold in the women’s race and Oakley’s Heather Irmiger placed third. “I have been to numerous Pan American/Continental Championships and come close to victory, but never sealed the deal," Wells said in an e-mail. “That is until (last) weekend."
