    Oakley’s 2008 World Champion Gee Atherton, wearing Crowbar, won on home soil last weekend at the UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World in Fort William, Scotland. Oakley’s World Cup and World Champion Jared Graves, wearing Mayhem, powered to victory in the 4 cross. Oakley’s South African Greg Minnaar finished 1.21 seconds behind Gee in downhill and placed third. Minnaar continues to lead the downhill men’s series. Oakley’s Rachel Atherton, wearing the O Frame, took second in women downhill, missing first by just over a second.

    The Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup concluded this weekend in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Quebec, Canada. Coming just one month after the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Val di Sol, Italy and weeks before the Beijing Olympics, the world championship event in Mont-Sainte-Anne is a stepping stone for some of the world’s top racers on road to the Summer Games.

    The world came to Val di Sole, Italy, for a week of racing that crowned the World Champions in mountain bike and trials disciplines. Though touted as a popular summer (as well as winter) tourist destination in Italy’s Dolomite mountains, Val di Sole was anything but sunny as racers, fans and the media descended June 17-22.
