“We knew we still had upside potential,” said Klingman who was held up strongly in his stint with another pilot, “The overtaking in Oschersleben are limited, since you have already beginning to be forward.”

For race two the tire choice before the launch was the big question because it had just rained and temperatures were at about 5 degrees. Slicks? Nevertheless, it was decided to profile-slicks.

Klingmann made everything right: "In the beginning it was already extremely slippery on the cold track and after a few laps it started to rain again. I had to watch like hell, not to lose the car. "

At the start he could make two good pitches and gave the Audi R8 LMS after 35 minutes lying on his team-mates on the 2nd place.

“In the hope that the track dry again, we decided not to use rain tires. That was a good decision at the end. With second place, there was the first podium result for ABT Sportsline the new year.”

Both drivers praised the excellent strategy of the team: "Today was a great team performance. In the beginning it was very humid, so it was not easy with the slicks, "said Cuba Giermaziak. And Klingmann said: “The decision by the team was absolutely right, and Cuba deserves great praise, which is has gone incredibly well.”

After the perfect start to the season, Klingmann / Giermaziak are eleven points behind the leaders Kentenich / Asch with 16 points.
