Two out of three ain’t bad. Oakley’s freestyle/snowcross chargers Heath Frisby and Cory Davis claimed Silver and Bronze, respectively, in the exhilarating Snowmobile Speed & Style event Friday…one short of an all out Oakley sweep. Heath was in the hunt for the Gold as he went head-to-head with eventual winner Joe Parsons, throwing down the sickest tricks of the evening. But Parsons’ speed proved to be the deciding factor in the judging, as his 93.59 edged out Heath’s 89.66 – landing Frisby the Silver.
When it comes to contests, 4’s definitely not a charm. Oakley Snowmobile Star Daniel Bodin solidified that theory at Winter X Games 15, as his first 91.33 run in the Snowmobile Freestyle Finals landed him his first Gold medal after finishing in fourth for four years in a row in the event.
Supercross Stop 3 was two words: Absolutely epic. The first visit the sport has ever made to historic Dodger Stadium saw Oakley Stars Ryan Villopoto, James “Bubba” Stewart and Ryan Dungey engage in one of the most exciting battles in the sport’s history, eventually sweeping the podium and setting the pace for what’s sure to be an insane season. Dungey and Villopoto established their top form in the qualifiers, grabbing their respective heat races, while Bubba overshot the first turn after grabbing the holeshot in Heat 2. But he masterfully charged from the middle of the pack to a fourth place finish to set the tone for what would be an amazing Main Event.
