Few were more surprised at Martin Truex Jr.’s stunning late race performance at Sonoma on Sunday…than himself. Oakley’s NASCAR ripper topped fellow O driver Juan Pablo Montoya and Jeff Gordon for victory, halting an extensive Sprint Cup Series drought stretching back to 2007. “You can’t explain the feeling,” Martin said following his second career triumph. “When it’s been that long and you worked so hard and you’ve been so close … you think at times, man, is this ever going to happen again? It’s pretty surreal. Unbelievable.”

More than 20,000 fans braved the Tennessee heat to see Red Bull-KTM’s star take the overall victory at Muddy Creek – topping fellow Oakley star Ryan Villopoto with an impressive win in the second Moto.

The three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion – and his team – sputtered out of the gates this year with a mere two top ten finishes, a season-best seventh place result and no win since Daytona last July. This past weekend, however, Dover shattered that storyline. Powering past fellow Oakley driver Juan Pablo Montoya with three laps to go, Tony Stewart blazed his way to a glorious victory and effectively snapped his 30-race winless streak.
