The defending Supercross Champion just hit the halfway mark in the season. And he’s showing no signs of giving up his title. It only took Oakley’s Motocross Star, Ryan Villopoto, two laps to establish his dominance in St. Louis this past weekend – smoking the field for the victory and extending his lead in the overall Championship standings by 13 points. O’s Justin Barcia has swept through the last few rounds as the man in the Lites East series – emphatically taking the last three stops to extend his own lead in the title race.

Apparently, Oakley’s Motocross Team loves the A.T.L. In a monster sweep of the Supercross podium (and the Top Four overall finishes), the team, lead by resurging O star, Ryan Dungey, displayed its utter dominance in the Georgia Dome this past weekend. Rounding off the awards stage, Oakley’s defending Supercross Champ, Ryan Villopoto (RV), and James “Bubba” Stewart gripped onto their positions amongst the riders in the top of the Championship standings – capping off yet another super intense battle for 450 supremacy in the land of peaches.

Oakley Motocross Star Ryan Villopoto (RV) and Chad Reed have been battling for Main Event superiority, head-to-head, most of the season. Arlington was no different. The two speedsters, aiming for an advantage in the overall Championship standings, came out the gates blazing – with Reed near the front of the pack. But in the second turn, RV powered himself to the lead, leaving the entire field to double track’s first triple. And although Reed was hot on his tail for the first six laps, he fell victim to a heap in the soft sandy section of the course – bowing out with a leg injury.
