It was a big day for Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship rookie Eli Tomac at Spring Creek. After taking his first career moto win in the 450cc class by a 16-second margin, he followed it up with a second consecutive moto win and his first 1-1 sweep. “Today was a tough one the way the track was,” said Tomac, who has finished on the overall podium in each of his four career starts. “Going into the second moto I knew I had to get out there and get a good start. We ended up getting the holeshot then the red flag came out and I thought to myself ‘is this really happening?’ Luckily enough I got another one. [Justin] Brayton was right there, but after that I was just hitting my marks and I felt really comfortable.”

With an impressive showing at Glen Helen Raceway on the opening weekend of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship season, Ryan Dungey sits atop the early ratings. After finishing third in the first 450cc moto, Dungey made a thrilling pass on Ken Roczen just a few turns from the finish in moto two, helping to secure the overall win over a stacked field.
