    Oakley’s Ryan Dungey, won his second-straight Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship race this past weekend at Angel Stadium. Suzuki’s Austin Stroupe, ,won the Holeshot Award with Oakley’s James Stewart, hot on his back wheel through turn one. Stewart moved into the lead, passing Stroupe on the opening lap. Stewart’s teammate Josh Hill, then passed Stroupe for second. Oakley’s young gun and rookie to the big bike class Ryan Dungey started in seventh and started working his way through the pack, and by the end of lap two was in fourth place.

    After an epic premier one week ago, round two of the 2010 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, season didn’t disappoint as Oakley’s young gun Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., won his first career AMA Supercross class victory en route to taking the points lead. The night began dramatically when points leader Oakley’s James Stewart, of Haines City, Fla., was involved in a frightening crash during his heat race. The Oakley rider overcame obvious pain to compete in the last chance qualifier where he took the win and qualified for the main event. As the gates dropped, Oakley’s Ryan Dungey raced to his second straight SPIKE Holeshot Award, with Oakley’s Kawasaki rider Ryan Villopoto, of Poulsbo, Wash., and teammate Austin Stroupe, of Lincolnton, N.C., following, and never looked back leading all 20 laps of the main event.

    At the opening race of the 2010 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, defending AMA Supercross class champion, Oakley’s James Stewart, of Dade City, Fla., pulled off an exciting, come from behind win to open the season in front of 43,841 fans at Angel Stadium. Oakley’s Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., won the $1,500 SPIKE Holeshot Award in his official AMA Supercross class debut with Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto, of Poulsbo, Wash., and Stewart following in second and third, respectively.
