Once again it’s that time of year, time to kick start the AMA Monster Energy Supercross season at Anaheim Stadium. People in the greater So Cal area and throughout the 2-wheel motorsports community are a buzz, as this has to be the most anticipated start to the Supercross season EVER.

First you have the return of Oakley’s James “Bubba” Stewart after his rough year in 2010 when he had a wrist injury at stop number two and was officially out after race three. Now word is he’s rearing to get back onto the track and prove he’s still the best to all his naysayers.

Then you have the reigning champion and no longer a rookie, Oakley’s very own Ryan Dungey who everyone is gunning for in this new season. As you all know Dungey had a year for the record books by winning the premier class of Supercross and Outdoor Motorcross in 2010. So, will Ryan suffer the classic sophomore year slump, or will he prove that last year was no fluke and he is here to reign supreme in the new decade?

And don’t forget about Oakley’s other top Supercross riders, like Ryan Villopoto and Josh Grant. Villopoto captured the most wins in 2010 during a season-long battle with Dungey that ended prematurely with a frightening crash in St. Louis. After being forced to sit off a bike for nearly five months, Villopoto is determined to take care of what he considers to be unfinished business against Dungey. Grant on the other hand is coming off a Summer X Games gold medal win in 2010 and is ready to prove he can take that winning style to the premier call in Supercross.

No matter what, Ryan Dungey will lead this insane field of his fellow Oakley Factory Pilot Team contenders vying for his current #1 plate on Saturday at Angels Stadium for the first round of the 2011 championship.
