Big News: Oakley Motocross Superstar James Stewart Signs With Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX Team - Option to Race NASCAR
Rumors have been circulating for months. With Oakley Motocross Superstar James “Bubba” Stewart not racing Outdoors (AMA Pro Motocross Series) this year, following a turbulent Supercross season, speculation on his future with a new team swirled in the air. Well the big news is finally out. Bubba has signed a multi-year contract to race with the motocross division of Joe Gibbs Racing, JGRMX. Famous for its success in NASCAR, Joe Gibbs’ team extended its relationship with Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. – racing exclusively Yamaha motorcycles through 2014. James will also have the option to dip into car racing with the team. He’ll debut on two wheels with Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX at the opening round of the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship (Jan. 7, 2012 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim).
The points battle for the top of the Supercross Standings definitely isn’t cooling off. In fact, it’s flat out blazing. Oakley’s Motocross Superstar James “Bubba” Stewart boldly proved that this past weekend as he claimed a resounding victory in Seattle, powering himself seven points forward in the rankings (284) to a mere two points behind fellow O star Ryan Dungey (286), who currently sits in third. With just a few races left, the intensity is absolutely peaking with a final outcome nearly impossible to predict.
