Foreshadowing: Juan Pablo Montoya’s Return to IndyCar is a Fresh Start

The fact is, Juan Pablo Montoya is one of the most talented racers on the Planet.

Not many drivers throughout history can boast of wins in IndyCar, Formula One, CART and stock car racing (NASCAR). What’s more, JP is one of only two active demons behind the wheel that have claimed two legs of the ‘Triple Crown of Motorsport’ – claiming victories in both the Indianapolis 500 and the ultra prestigious Monaco Grand Prix.

If that’s not badass in itself, what is?

But looking at the past few seasons in America’s beloved NASCAR series, it has been easy to forget that someone with as much international fame and pedigree has been gracing Sprint Cup’s ovals/tracks every week.

Let’s face it, Juan hasn’t been in the position to win a title in a stock car.

Fast forward to now – and it seems as though a fresh new start is on the horizon.

Returning to his roots in open wheel racing, JPM is joining a Championship contending team in Penske Racing – alongside perennial contender Helio Castroneves.

A figure with such history and international flavor can only help return some flare to the IndyCar series, and returning to a series where he theoretically should be more comfortable, should be a great thing for JP.

With some early testing underway for Penske Racing these past few weeks, Juan’s smile seems all the more bright these days. As it should be. IndyCar is in for a treat this coming season – as JP Montoya is landing back to a place where we all know he’ll be kicking arse and taking names in no time.
