Oakley, Inc. (NYSE:OO) today announced the signing of Ben Townley to wear Oakley’s Crowbar® MX goggle and casual eyewear, adding the reigning AMA Supercross Lites champion to their impressive line up of athletes for the 2008 supercross/motocross racing season.

Townley has competed in the U.S. the past two seasons and makes his return to the Oakley brand. He wore Oakley goggles during his 2004 World MX2 Championship season.

“He is a fierce competitor with an unbelievable work ethic,” said Pat McIlvain, Director of Sports Marketing for Oakley. “Having won championships in Europe and in New Zealand, and now in the U.S., he is truly an international star. We are glad to have Ben back in the Oakley family.”

For 2008, Townley will make the transition to Honda’s factory racing team, where he will compete in AMA Supercross Lites before making the jump to the premier AMA Motocross division.

“Oakley makes an unbelievable product and I’m really looking forward to wearing their product again. I have always been an Oakley Athlete at heart and couldn’t wait to get back home where I belong and wear the best goggles on the track again,” said Townley, who is entering his third season of racing in the U.S.
