The Aussie just keeps on trucking. Oakley MotoGP Star Casey Stoner extended his MotoGP Championship Standings lead to a massive 243 points after claiming a resounding victory from Pole at Indianapolis MotoGP this past weekend. The Aussie speed demon smashed his way to the new circuit best lap record on the way to grabbing pole position with a 1’38.850 lap. He also clocked the new fastest lap record of 1’39.807 in his seventh win of the season and his third consecutive victory in a row following Laguna Seca and Brno (Czech). Fellow Oakley rider and American star Ben Spies claimed some glory of his own on ‘home turf’ with a resounding third-place finish. On the heels of a rare, crowded fan autograph signing at the Oakley Retail Garage onsite at the track – put on by Oakley and the Indianapolis Motors Speedway – Ben started the race in the second position.
Casey Stoner is straight cruisin’, mate. Oakley’s Aussie MotoGP Star left the rest of the field in his dust at the Czech MotoGP Grand Prix in Brno, topping Andrea Dovizioso for his sixth win of the season. The triumph extends Casey’s current Championship Standings lead to 32 points in front of defending champ Jorge Lorenzo.
Casey Stoner’s points lead is officially solid. Oakley’s Australian MotoGP star powered past defending Champ Jorge Lorenzo in the 26th Lap at the Mazda Raceway in Laguna Seca in late July – claiming his fifth season victory and a 20-point advantage at the top of the standings. Despite some less than ideal testing, practices and qualifying, Sunday morning saw the team find their bike. An important factor in trumping Lorenzo, who logged in the fastest times all week and was clearly in form before crashing out on Saturday.
