Nicknamed “Six Feet of Sunshine,” Kerri Walsh and teammate, Misty May-Treanor have been called “the greatest beach volleyball team of all time.” Along with partner Misty, Kerri had one of the longest and most impressive winning streaks in professional sports after winning 89 straight matches on the AVP Tour as well as the international circuit between 2003 and 2004. In 2007 her 20 wins (domestic and international combined) tied her with Misty for the most wins in a single season.     Winning six of the first nine Windsurfing RS:X races pretty much means utter domination. And that was exactly the case with the Dorian Rijsselberge, the Dutch charger who dropped into the Finals in London with a Title all but guaranteed. Needing only to stay on his boat and finish the event, the man from the Netherlands soared his way to victory over the waves to officially and emphatically claim his hardware.

    It may not have been the Title that the ultra talented Brazilian duo wanted. But Juliana Felisberta Da Silva and Larissa Franca made up for a missed opportunity in Beijing by claiming a solid third place Beach Volleyball podium finish in London. The heavy bombers came back from a one set deficit to top China for the rights to hardware. “I am very happy that I got a podium finish,” Juliana said. “It’s not the top. But for us, it’s a victory.”

  • Men’s Sprint Cycling: Shane Perkins Brings A Third Place Prize From London Down Under

    Australian Sprint Cyclist Shane Perkins added another trophy to his illustrious collection on Monday. Not only is he the world champion in the kerin and team sprint cycling, he now claims a third place victory in London in the Men’s Sprint Cycling competition. The Aussie beat Trinidad’s Nijsane Phillip 2-0 in the third place race. England’s Jason Kenny took top billing as he downed Frenchman Gregory Bauge 2-0. Bauge has previously beaten Perkins in the semi-final round, sending the Aussie into the third place competition against Phillip.
