Reinaldo Colucci is one of the most versatile triathletes in the world. His victories and podium finishes span from the super fast and short made-for-TV races, such as the FAST Triathlon, to the World Cup circuit, all the way up to the 70.3 and Ironman distance.
Colucci, as he is better known among the media and friends in the sport, is known for his down-to-earth nature, and the wide smile that is always stamped on his face. Besides being a top athlete, his integrity and professionalism make him one of the most respected and beloved triathletes in the world!

When did you first start training in life? Where and why?
I started when I was 5 years old with some swimming classes in my home town. For a while my dad did not know how to swim he wanted to make sure I would.

One sport wasn’t enough? What got your into the multi-sport arena?
I was never very good in swimming races, I guess because I was too skinny, but once I started to do triathlons I think my body helped me to run faster in the end.

When did you turn pro?
In 2002.

What are the events, wins, memories that stand out most throughout your career so far?
I have very good memories of my first Olympic games in 2008. To stand up on the start line was a dream come true.

What is your best discipline and why?
Cycling, because I have good technique.

If you had a discipline that needed work, which would it be and why?
SWIMMING! I need to get better on my first 5 minutes of the race.

Ironman 70.3 ( 1.900m swim / 90km bike / 21 km run)
