South African BMX star, Sifiso Nhlapo, was tipped as of the favorites for an Olympic medal after he successfully secured his spot as the sole South African representative to take part in the XXIX Olympiad in Bejing 2008.
“Skizo” as many know him, guaranteed his Olympic spot when he finished 3rd at the BMX World Championships in Taiyuan, China 2008. Skizo backed this remarkable achievement by finishing as VICE- Champion in the 2008 European BMX championship, having won several rounds against a top international field and being one of the most consistent riders in the European Championship. In 2009 the young South African set a new record by winning 6 straight finals in a row. Leading the European Championship for most the season Sifiso broke his neck in a training accident and could not race the last 4 rounds, which cost him the title.
In 2010 Sifiso came back from injury and finished 2nd at the BMX World Championships held in his home country South Africa, PMB.
As a multiple South African Champion, former Cruizer World Champion, and now an Elite World Champ favorite, Sifiso’s BMX career is exploding.
