Oakley's Nino Schurter Wins SRAM XX Maremma Cup

Oakley’s World Champion Nino Schurter starts his 2010 campaign in style by winning the SRAM XX Maremma Cup in Massa Marittima, Tuscany. Oakley’s Florian Vogel takes 5th.

From the beginning last year’s winner Florian Vogel and Nino Schurter set the pace. Only Italian champion Marco Aurelio Fontana (Cannondale) was able to follow. While Vogel dropped back a bit, European champion Ralp Näf installed himself in third. The gap was too big to close. The winner had to be Schurter or Fontana. And it was the world champion himself who made it clear with a strong attack that he rides his jersey in pride. The 20 seconds he gained on Fontana stayed the same for the last two laps to secure his first win of the season.
