2010 Tour de France Stage 5 Recap: Cavendish Finally Takes Home The Win

Oakley’s Mark Cavendish of Great Britain returned to form in spectacular fashion today, producing a superb sprint finish to claim victory in the fifth stage of the Tour de France.

The Manx rider was under pressure following his failure in the sprint yesterday despite a seemingly perfect lead-out from his HTC-Columbia team, and responded in the perfect fashion, blasting through the pack to beat Gerald Ciolek and Team Sky’s Edvald Boasson Hagen (Oakley) into second and third respectively.

Fabian Cancellara (Oakley) stays in Yellow, Thor Hushovd (Oakley) stays in Green (Points) and Geraint Thomas (Oakley) stays in White as the best young rider.

Oakley now has three stage wins.
