While it wasn’t the result most people expected, Canada’s Michelle Stilwell was happy with a first and second place finish in London. Her fans likely expected the world record holder in the T52 100-meter and 200-meter races to finish first in both.

“I don’t think you can be disappointed with any (medal from the Paralympic Games),” said Stilwell, who holds the world records in the 100m, 200m and 400m events. “I went out there and gave it everything I could and I’m ecstatic to come home with anything.”

Jaroslav Kulhavy Tops London Mountain Bike Podium; Nino Schurter, Marco Aurelio Fontana Take Second, Third

The Czech Republic’s Jaroslav Kulhavy was far from the favorite in the men’s mountain bike competition this year in London. The world champion had yet to collect a world cup win during the season. He entered the race in England quiet and poised to surprise the world-class field. He did just that, sprinting to the victory during the final 200 meters, beating out Switzerland’s Nino Schurter for the top prize, by just one second. Almost as remarkable was the third place ride by Italy’s Marco Aurelio Fontana. Fontana lost his seat and seat post during the final lap of the course and finished just 25 seconds behind the second place finisher, with nothing to sit on.

Athletes, friends and family of the brand, of all kinds, came to visit us in the London Design Museum right on the south bank of the River Thames. They came before their competition to get product and healthy meals as well as after to party and celebrate their accomplishments with us. Every athlete was taken care of exactly the same and treated like family. It’s easy to see why they kept coming back.

Colombia’s BMX team has officially hit the map.

Lead by Mariana Pajon, who claimed her nation’s very first victory in London by owning the Women’s race, the South American country continued its damage with countryman Carlos Oquemdo taking a third place finish in the Men’s event.

“I started gymnastics when I was five, but I started BMX when I was three,” said Mariana, who also became the second Colombian ever to claim a Summer Games win. "I was doing gymnastics, BMX and cart racing. However BMX wasn’t at the Olympics and I wanted to be here, then BMX was introduced in Beijing and I started training.”

Utterly smashing three semi-final runs in tantalizing style, she lead the pack of eight formidable riders through the first turn. She never relinquished the lead – cruising to a massive triumph over rivals from the across the Globe.

Carlos wasn’t the only man of note (in the family) to grace the Men’s podium, however.

Aussie smasher Sam Willoughby, who was crowned with a World Championship title this year, took second after being edged by Maris Strombergs in an intense 450 meter final.

It was a spectacle of massive hits Thursday at the Horse Guard’s Parade in London.

But although Brazilian bombers Emanuel Rego and Alison Cerutti threw down some of the most impressive kills of the evening, the two fell short of Germans Julius Brink and Jonas Reckermann – who claimined a dramatic victory following an intensely heated battle (23-21, 16-21,16-14).

The impressive result marked the first-ever Beach Volleyball triumph at the Summer Games by a European team.

“That was a huge match with many highs and lows,” Reckermann said. “After we gave away the third match ball, my heart really sank. But the beach volleyball gods were on out side today.”
