Mark Paul Gosselaar, is definitely stoked on Oakley. The long-time Hollywood star, his kids and a collection of some of Tinsel Town’s brightest young stars converged in Dana Point, Calif. to be welcomed into the O family – surf style. All for Oakley’s famous ‘Learn to Ride’ program, which merges the entertainment and sports industries in efforts to spread the stoke on different sports. Hitting Doheny Beach on July 22, Gosselaar (TNT’s Franklin and Bash), Amber Lancaster (MTV’s Hard Times of RJ Berger), Brian Geraghty (Hurtlocker, The Chameleon), Kate Voegele (One Tree Hill) and many more joined to get down, get up on their boards and learn from Oakley’s resident Women’s World No. 2 Pro standout Sage Erickson, as well as Oakley Surf Managers Ronny Nelson and Luke Walsh.
Oakley’s roots are in motocross. And our celebrity friends learned this fact…the hard way…last month as the Big O’s rockin’ ‘Learn to Ride’ program took a few on a crash course on dirt bikes. The program – which teaches celebrities a thing or two about an action sport – brought some of Hollywood’s hottest young stars out to meet O Motocross Stars like top Supercross/AMA Motocross Championship rider Davi Millsaps in the Southern California desert (Lake Perris). But make no mistake, this wasn’t just any meet and greet. The stars got down and dirty – gearing up in Oakley Motocross gear, mounting dirt bikes and trying their luck at the intense sport.
What do you get when you put celebrities and Oakley together in Park City, Utah? Major shreddage. Sundance Film Festival style. The Big O invaded the snowy town late January with a sick setup at the Downstairs venue on Main St. (Owned by That 70’s show star Danny Masterson) – bringing together a vibrant collection of personalities from Hollywood, the music world and action sports for yet another edition of O’s ‘Learn to Ride’ event. And it was definitely a party.
