They call him the “Racer of Tomorrow.” And for good reason. Oakley’s young Speed Demon Josef Newgarden claimed charged into the Firestone Indy Lights race at Kentucky last week with one objective: Start the race. Because the Indy Lights Title was all but wrapped up. The racing star went on to grab the second-place podium spot in the race and boldly claim the 2011 Title with five convincing victories and a mere three finishes off the podium in the first 13 races.

Pole to Triumph: IndyCar Star Scott Dixon Sweeps Weekend at Mid-Ohio, Franchitti Grabs Second
Tally a sweep for Scott Dixon. Oakley’s IndyCar star boldly grabbed a victory from pole this past weekend for a full weekend triumph at the Honda Indy 200, overtaking fellow O driver Dario Franchitti on Lap 61 to cross the finish 7.6508 seconds ahead. The win marks the Kiwi speedster’s third career win at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and his first win this season. The result also pushes him to second in the overall championship standings.

Powering Up: Will Power Triumphs at IndyCar Grand Prix of Alabama, Dixon and Franchitti Round Out Podium
Ask Will Power about last year’s Grand Prix of Alabama. He’ll tell you he dominated every part of the race…except for the winning part. But this year, there was no such short coming as Oakley’s star IndyCar driver powered his way to a resounding win from the start to the tail end of the event – finishing 3.38 seconds ahead of fellow Oakley drivers Scott Dixon (2nd) and Dario Franchitti (3rd), the defending IndyCar Champion. “I can’t think of a race where I’ve been so cool, so physically fine and where I had everything go so right,” Power said, rockin’ his Oakley eyewear.
