Bio
The reigning Indianapolis 500 and IndyCar Series Champion will contest the 2009 race season alongside new teammate and 2007 Indianapolis 500 and IndyCar Series Champion, Dario Franchitti.
Dixon posted a series record-tying six wins, seven pole positions (including a record four wins from pole) and led a series-record 899 laps en route to his second IndyCar Series championship (2003).
2009 will be his eighth year with Target Chip Ganassi Racing – the longest tenure for a driver in team history (1990-present).
He is the only current IndyCar Series driver with multiple championships on his resume as a result of 143 starts between the CART and IndyCar Series, producing 20 wins, 15 poles and 96 top-10 finishes (2001-Present).
