Teemu Selanne


Nicknamed “The Finnish Flash,” Teemu Selanne is a professional ice hockey right winger and is currently playing for the Anaheim Ducks, a team with which he won a Stanley Cup in 2007. In 2008, Teemu held the Ducks’ record for career hat tricks and power-play goals. He is the all-time points leader in men’s Olympic ice hockey with 38 points in 31 games. On March 21, 2010, Selanne scored his 600th career NHL goal against the Colorado Avalanche on goalie Craig Anderson putting him 1 goal behind Jari Kurri’s Finnish record of 601.     Gold medalist defenceman Scott Niedermayer, his wife, Lisa, and youngest child, Luke, stopped by Oakley last week. Oakley presented Scott with a gold watch to match his freshly earned gold medal. In addition to his two Winter Game golds, he is the only player to win every major North American and international championship which includes the Memorial Cup, World Junior Championship gold, IIHF World Championship gold, four Stanley Cups and the World Cup.

    Oakley’s veteran right wing Teemu Selanne will return to play with the Ducks tonight against the Florida Panthers. Selanne announced himself ready to jump back into action after having missed the past eight games because of a broken jaw suffered January 13 during a 4-3 victory over the Boston Bruins at the Honda Center.
