Along the cliffs of the Ritz Carlton’s Half Moon Bay Resort the NorCal Shootout kicked off on the “Old Course” under stormy skies, only to give way to one of the best sunsets this side of the Pacific Ocean. Over 140 people participated in the fourth annual event that Oakley and Corona Beer sponsored on November 19th.
The NorCal Shootout saw some very strong golf with low scores, long drives and incredibly close par 3 tee shots. “Old Course” is one of two courses in Half Moon Bay at the Ritz Carlton Resort, and one of the most breathtaking at that. Views range from incredibly green rolling fairways on the front nine to the jagged Pacific coastline on the back nine.
"The NorCal Shootout has become the most anticipated and exciting event of the year in Northern California… and in 2007, Oakley took it to the next level,” said Bobby Schultze, Oakley NorCal Rep. “With a field filled with top PGA Professionals and Amateurs from around the world, we have the opportunity to showcase our cutting edge products and technology to the elite leaders of our industry in a fun, yet intensely competitive arena."
Tons of prizes were awarded and raffled off to all who participated from top media journalists at CNet to PGA Professionals at Spyglass Hill GC (Pebble Beach) to Oakley Regional Sales Managers. The 2007 Professional Champion is Brad Martin from The Olympic Club in San Francisco, congrats to Brad in earning the title for second time in the four-year anniversary of this event.
A big thank you needs to go out to Bobby Schultze, Oakley NorCal Rep for putting on another spectacular event, Al Janc, Oakley Golf Sports Marketing Manager, the Corona crew, the Corona Girls, the Rolling O Lab Crew of Ryan, Bryan, Adam, Micah and John, and everyone at the Ritz Carlton for putting up with our fun and rowdy crew.
