The TPC Scottsdale’s 16th Hole Is Calling…

The shear madness of the Waste Management Phoenix Open is upon us. Average attendance has been in the 200,000 plus range each Saturday of this PGA Tournament, making it an ideal place for Oakley to activate around our growing golf line.

So, we are back and better than ever with over 20 players in the field as of Jan. 20th, things are looking strong for the product side of Oakley professional golf. Local boy, by way of going to school at U of A, Ricky Barnes will be sporting the new Full Auto Golf Shoe from Oakley as well as the new Fast Jacket sunglasses. Fast Jacket will not be releasing until May, but Ricky will be showcasing its great features, including the switch lock technology.

In addition to Ricky, Oakley has several top eyewear players in the field ranging from two former Masters Champions – Zach Johnson and Trevor Immelman to former PGA Champion – Rich Beem to 2009 Runner-up of the Phoenix Open – Charley Hoffman. Look for these guys to come on strong over Super Bowl weekend, as well as Bo Van Pelt, Kevin Na, Brian Davis and several others.

On site for those of you that will be attending the WM Phoenix Open, Oakley will once again be the sponsor of the VIP Greenskeeper venue, but in addition will be adding a VIP Lounge inside of the Greenskeeper area. Look for this to be the area that a lot of the local talent will be hanging out in on Saturday and Sunday.

Of course we will be once again sponsoring the 16th Hole, the wildest hole in all of golf. The 16th Hole allows for anyone to be a fan of golf with its insane layout and pressure cooking par 3 set-up. ASU students can be heard shouting chants from two to three holes away, and sometimes throwing beer at their favorite players. To say this is a can’t miss spectacle would be quite the understatement.

No Oakley presence would be complete without a Rolling O Lab set up. So, we are bringing back our presence of the Expo Tent from 2010 and stepping it up a notch with our latest apparel and footwear program on display, as well as our top golf and lifestyle eyewear being sold at the merchandise tent.

Finally, new this year is the activation we are doing with our sales teams with a showroom and R&D demonstration at Talking Stick Casino for not only our top accounts in the US, but also select media. Look for this to grow our presence within the golf community where it matters most the club pros and buyers at your local pro shops and stores
