Buckeye Blowout

The third stop of the 2010 Oakley Pro Am series was hosted at Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio. The night before the tournament was to take place 90+ golfers came out to the course to enjoy a night of food, drinks, golf and a little Oakley education from the guys of the Rolling O Lab. There was a putting contest as well as a chipping contest going on with great music being supplied by the local Redbull DJ. The Rolling O Lab was also on hand to give everyone the opportunity to step inside and learn what Oakley HDO is all about and how we separate ourselves from all of the other eyewear brands.

The next morning the sun was shining bright and all the golfers returned to the course for the real reason they were here, to hit the links. After morning registration, coffee and breakfast the foursomes rolled onto the course to see how the day would fair. With Oakley branding covering nearly every corner of the grounds it was obvious that this golf tournament was a little different, it was Oakley style.

The par 3 ninth was the dedicated closest to the pin hole, sponsored by New Era. As the golfers arrived at the tee box they had a chance to win a one of a kind special made trophy hat as well as Oakley hats just by hitting the green. Also they could take a look at upcoming Oakley New Era hats hitting the stores shortly.

After all the golfing was over, everyone was excited and ready for the raffle that Ohio rep. Joe Green had put together. In addition to all of the Oakley product on hand, there were snowboards, golf clubs, as well as autographed memorabilia and tickets to professional sporting events. The majority of the proceeds from the raffle were donated to Molly Rowlee fund. Check out the site at www.mollyrowlee.com

Once the scores were tallied, Jason Hansen was crowned the champion and received the coveted heavy weight belt. Jason will now have the chance to compete in the Oakley Skull Cup, which will be played in the Ryder Cup style format, East Coast vs. West Coast. Also after the last of the 10 Oakley Pro Ams, the winners will head out to Arizona to enjoy the Phoenix Open.

Now that the Buckeye Blowout is all wrapped up get ready for the High Country Golf Invitational to take place at the Cordillera Summit GC in the beautiful state of Colorado.

A huge thanks goes out to all Corona for providing us with all of the liquid courage during the day, the Longaberger Golf Club Staff for hosting the party and all of the players that traveled from all over the country to make this event a blast.
