Golf Tournament with the Pros Wrapup

It was a beautiful day at the Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, California for the 2nd annual JSerra Ice Lions Golf Tournament. The Kelly Askew group lead the 5-hour shotgun by taking the overall lowest golf score and being awarded the JSerra Golf Tournament Cup.

Hockey Pro’s participating in the golf event included:
Luc Robitaille, Guy Herbert, Marty McSorley, Craig Lyons, David Karpa, John Ahlers, Craig Johnson, Dave Taylor, Kelly Askew, Ian Turnbull, JF Jomphe and Mel Bridgman.

After the golf outing, a cocktail hour reception allowed golfers and non-golfers to meet the pro’s and bid on many silent auction items. Ice Lion’s President, Dave Pauluzzi, welcomed 160 guests at the buffet dinner held at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort which included a short video presentation about the JSerra Ice Lions being the first High School Ice hockey team in Southern California. Post dinner, the evening included a live auction, a presentation of Pro athletes, special guest speakers President Andy Oakes of the Okanagan Hockey Academy located in British Columbia, Canada and JSerra High School Principal Tom Waszak.

The evening closed with golf awards that included the longest drive by Craig Lyons and an Oakley Blade II watch presented to Jim Lynn for the closet to the pin on a par 3 (137 yards) hole sponsored by Oakley. Anaheim Ducks announcer, John Ahlers, MC’d the post dinner program.
