Spaniard Beatriz Recari Triumphs In Two-Hole Playoff To Win LPGA Kia Classic
Bringing a two-shot lead into the final round of the LPGA Kia Classic, Beatriz Recari most likely didn’t have eyes on winning the tournament in dramatic fashion. Slow and steady, banking on her impressive lead. That wasn’t the case however, as Recari finished Sunday’s round at Aviara in Carlsbad, California, tied for the lead with I.K. Kim. Both Recari and Kim three-putted the 18th hole to force a two-hole playoff. The two would repeat their performances on 18, during the first playoff hole, forcing another hole. That was when Recari sank an 18-foot birdie putt from the fringe to secure her second career LPGA title.
