The second year of the Ryan Moore Charity Skins Game took place under overcast conditions to start, but by the fifth hole the fog had burned off and gave way to perfect bluebird skies. This year’s field consisted off defending champ Aaron Baddeley, the booming drives of Bubba Watson, new comer Ben Crane and of course Ryan Moore.

“You put something like this together and you kind of have your fingers crossed and you hope everyone enjoys it,” said Ryan Moore on the event. “And for two years in a row, it’s had incredible community support.”

Once again the skins event took place at Chambers Bay Golf Course, a brutally long and grueling layout that will play host to the US Open in 2015. $40,000 in prize money was up for grabs and each player brought there “A” game, but no one would top Aaron Baddeley’s superior ball striking and clutch putts. The result would be 14 skins for Baddeley, giving him $31,000 for his phenomenal play in front of a gallery of 1,500.

The long-hitting Watson, of Bagdad, FL, was second with three skins ($7,500), and Crane, the newcomer from Portland, OR grabbed one skin ($1,500).

Even though Ryan Moore did not win a single skin, he did shoot the best round of the day, a 3-under-par 69, as well as making five birdies, the most in the field.

“As far as my game is concerned,” said Moore. “That’s probably the best round of golf I’ve played in the last three or four months.”
