2010 Oakley Pro/Am - Nor Cal Shootout
On a cool autumn Monday morning at the Half Moon Bay Ritz-Carlton, the second to last Oakley Pro/Am tournament of 2010 kicked off in style. The registration area had been moved into the clubhouse area with a whole new branded set-up. Upon check in all players were given Oakley Pro/Am “Nor Cal Shootout” t-shirts, New Era “Oakley Pro/Am” hats and a pair of brand new Oakley Superdrive golf shoes.
After that it was time to hit the putting green and see the likes of 1992 Hall of Fame pitch Rollie Fingers and top global skateboarder Eric Kosten practicing their putts. At 10:30am Oakley’s top head-to-toe PGA player, Ricky Barnes sporting the soon to be released, Fast Jacket eyewear talked about his fantastic 2010 season on tour, which included seven top ten finishes and ending the season #64 in the FedEx Points Standings.
From there, everyone rolled to their branded Oakley golf carts and headed out to the Ocean and Old Courses to begin play. With the field spread out over two courses the day was a bit more relaxing then years past with a smooth pace of play. The day saw several highlights on the course and the entertainment ranging from numerous hot ladies on signature holes giving out shots, Neuro Sonic, Tacos, Modelo Beer and much more.
The day wrapped up with a typical Half Moon Bay sunset over the Pacific Ocean crashing against the bluff coastline. Inside the main clubhouse area some fantastic Asian cuisine was being served as host and director of the Nor Cal Shootout, and top Oakley Golf Rep, Bobby Schultze began the raffle and prize giveaway. Helping Bobby hand out the awards and prizes were AVP host, Geeter, a hot young lady named Alex and Ricky Barnes.
A new element added to this year’s evening portion of the event in a Cosmic Golf Challenge for select prizes, which was a huge hit with the beverage-induced crowd. Finally the dinner party ended with Mark Sherman of Green Valley CC taking home the top brass hardware of the Nor Cal Shootout Title Belt to represent his region of the Oakley Pro/Am Series this coming February at Oakley’s first ever Skull Cup!
Big thanks go out too many people for another fabulous Nor Cal Shootout in 2010, but the person deserving the biggest shout out goes to none other then Bobby Schultze. Oakley looks forward to hosting the 2011 Nor Cal Shootout again for our top accounts, head pros and golf fans next November.
