Bio

Kristy has been participating in competitive sports her entire life. Before golf, she was involved in softball, basketball and dance. She was introduced to the game of golf at the age of 8. Kristy’s father, who is an avid golfer, introduced her to this wonderful game. Although Kristy enjoyed golf, she was more interested in playing team sports at the time. Her main focuses were on softball and basketball. It was an illness that made Kristy love the crazy game of golf.

At the age of 11, Kristy was diagnosed with Still’s Disease, which is a form of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. For the next year, she spent an enormous amount of time lying in bed unable to walk, as the arthritis left her immobile. Her doctors told her that she would no longer be able to compete in softball or basketball. Kristy couldn’t do anything that required running or jumping. Kristy feared that she would not be able to compete in any sport again. With determination and support of my family, she was able to find something that allowed her to be competitive.

Kristy enrolled into junior golf and started competing at the age of 14. She played AJGA events and was a member of her high school boy’s golf team for four years.
After having a successful high school and junior career, Kristy received a scholarship to the University of South Carolina where she majored in Sport and Entertainment management and minored in Business Administration.

After her graduation from USC in June of 2003, Kristy competed on the Duramed Futures Tour. It was 3 ½ years before Kristy qualified for the LPGA. Kristy received LPGA exempt status by finishing fourth on the 2006 Duramed Futures Tour money list and started her rookie season on the LPGA in 2007. In 2008, Kristy Recorded six top-10 finishes, including a career-best tie for fourth at the P&G Beauty NW Arkansas Championship Presented by John Q. Hammons, where she carded a career-low 64 in the first round. In 2009, Kristy narrowly missed her first Major Victory at the Kraft Nabisco Championship and ended up tying for 2nd.
