Ian Poulter Comes From Behind To Win HSBC Champions in China
Ian Poulter has had an amazing fall season, beginning with his marvelous display at the Ryder Cup in Illinois in August. Poulter won all four of his matches at the Medinah Country Club just outside of Chicago, which pitted the top US golfers against the best of the Europeans. Following up his impressive performance in the United States, Poulter came from behind at the HSBC Champions in Shenzen, China to overcome a world class group of Phil Mickelson, Jason Dufner, Scott Piercy and Ernie Els who all tied for second. Poulter compiled a staggering 21-under, 267 on the weekend at Mission Hills Olazabal Course in China. This was Poulter’s first victory of the 2012 season.

Oakley’s British hotshot Golfer stormed back from behind with a killer 10-foot putt to top Luke Donald at the Volvo Match Play Championship at the Finca Cortesin Club in Spain. Down three times in the match, his putt on the penultimate green not only landed him the big victory, but it also prevented Donald from claiming the World No. 1 ranking. As a player who thrives in the pressure cooker and steps up to the plate, Ian’s performance in the last three holes in the quarter-finals – birdying all three – powered him though a two-hole deficit to Francesco Molinari to advance.
