Oakley’s Ian Poulter carded a closing 72, one over par, to edge out China’s Liang Wen-chong by one shot and complete a nervous wire-to-wire victory in the Barclays Singapore Open.

With former Asian number one Liang in the clubhouse at nine under following a final round of 70, Poulter stood on the 18th tee with a one stroke lead after seeing his five shot halfway cushion wiped out on Saturday.

But the 33 year-old Englishmen held his nerve to make par and secure his first win since the Dunlop Phoenix Open in Japan in 2007 and his first on The European PGA Tour since Madrid in 2006.

Oakley athletes took three wins at three different PGA tours from around the globe this past weekend. Oakley’s Troy Matteson got his second career victory at the Frys. com Open in Scotsdale, Arizona. Oakley’s Michael Jonzon won his first Euro PGA tour in 12 years in Castellon, Spain and Oakley’s Scottish-born Michael Sim took the championship at the Nationwide Tour in Charleston, South Carolina.

Vegas baby, Vegas. The 2009 Oakley/Corona Vegas Pro-Am went off this year thanks to a great effort by Oakley sales crew Kirk Schultz and Paul Hymas along with Yogi Ybarra, Mark Masanovich, Elysia Sheldon, Keith Leisher. The tournament was played on the Sun Mountain Course at the beautiful Paiute golf club. The impeccable greens and tight fairways were home to 150 regional pros and local and national golf accounts last Tuesday. Rounding out the crew were Oakley golf team members Ricky Barnes, Parker McLoughlin, and Charley Hoffman as well as Oakley volleyballer Sean Rosenthal.
