Adventures In Laax

Swiss Alps From Tram

Our adventure continued from Solden, Austria to Laax, Switzerland, which all of us were excited to visit for many reasons, but namely the new Rocks Resort we would be staying in. The Rocks Resort is a brand new addition to Laax, the buildings are designed to be very modern day apartments varying in size from two to four bedrooms. The apartments have all the luxuries one could need from heated stone floors throughout to a rain shower to a full kitchen to beautiful views of the Alps.

We arrived after midnight and immediately crashed due to our four hour drive and a long day of shredding at the river jump in Austria. The next day we headed up on the hill with two new additions to the team – Seb Toots and Charles Reid. Talks between Eero and Scotty Lago began about the jump Laax would be building us, meanwhile Seb and Charles rode the pipe.

The next few days were pretty mellow due to weather and waiting for the jump to be ready. The flying Samaria, Kazu Kokobu arrived and joined Seb and Charles in some pipe riding sessions.

What would be our final day on hill at Laax the jump was finally ready, but not all the riders would hit it, including Eero. But that did not stop Seb Toots from throwing down some mean backside 180s, Charles Reid nailing a frontside 360 and of course the machine, Scotty Lago sticking all sorts of nasty tricks.

The next day we all packed up and went our separate ways. Eero and the Fins are headed home for a few days off, while the Friday Production Crew along with Charles, Kazu and myself head to Saas Fee, Switzerland to ride some pipe and potential powder.
