No one throws down sick combinations in the air like Dany Torres.

Oakley’s Spanish Freestyle Motocross Star showcased his trademark extension and killer combos at X Games 17, putting down enough in Staples Center to land a Bronze Medal.

His overall score of 82 in the Finals was enough to push him onto the podium. But not quite enough to top veteran Nate Adams and Adam Jones.

Nonetheless, it was one amazing performance for Oakley’s Spaniard – who came into Los Angeles fresh on the heels of a huge Red Bull X-Fighters triumph on his home turf in Madrid in June.

Add in the fact that he fought through some tire problems during the Finals, and the feat was evern more amazing.

Read the below statement from Dany – then peep his Bronze Medal run.

“In my fourth attempt at the X-Games I was finally able to meet one of my dreams: Get a medal.

It’s been a difficult day because I didn’t feel comfortable in training for the type of ramps used in this competition, a situation that I expected, but also felt a strange reaction from the bike.

Just at the time of going to take part in the first round of competition, I realized that the rear tire was deflated – then upon checking it, we realized he had a screw lodged in it. The truth is that it was a very difficult time because while the riders were already on the track, we were still in the pits fixing the flat tire at full speed. The pressure was high for this contest, so you can only imagine with this unforeseen circumstance, it added a lot of tension. I was finally able to make my runs as good I wanted, but just enough to take a bronze medal.

I had to fight with the best riders in the world and my dream, regardless of the color of the medal has been fulfilled so I am more than satisfied.

Thanks to all who support me, this achievement is for all of you.”
