Dany Torres has Freestyle.ch FMX on lock. Heading into the 2012 event in Zurich, he was the reigning three-time winner, and therefore wearing a bull-sized target on his back. Despite any added pressure or stakes, Torres did just as he’s done for years, flying higher and pulling smoother tricks than anyone else in the event. “The heart of Bavaria has just been sold to a Frenchman!” A super hyped commentator at Red Bull X Fighters Munich summed up what was a stunning evening of Freestyle Motocross madness in the sprawling German city and capital of the famed region. Referring to Oakley’s own FMX star, Thomas Pages, the amped announcer had the privilege of calling the ultra heated contest that saw the French phenom knock off fellow Oakley star and defending series champion, Dany Torres in stunning fashion. ‘Flipping his bike 540 degrees in the air’ fashion, that is. “I had so many hot tricks to do tonight and felt the crowd pushing me on,” said Thomas, rocking his Oakley motocross goggles. “This was the scariest event I’ve ever done.”

Double Backflip: Freestyle Motorcross Ripper Cam Sinclair Snatches X Games Best Trick Bronze
The ever-impressive double backflip was enough to land Cam Sinclair the Gold a couple years ago. But with the sport’s progression getting even gnarlier, Oakley’s Australian FMX star settled for a solid X Games Moto X Best Trick Bronze in Los Angeles this week. His 89.33 run fell just short behind a surging Taka Higashino (Silver) and an unstoppable Jackson Strong.
