Oakley dominated the Tour of Spain “La Vuelta” with a complete podium.
Oakley’s Alejandro Valverde finally got a signature win. The 29-year-old Spaniard claimed the Spanish Vuelta on Sunday by being the most consistent rider during the 21-stage race that began August 29th in Assen, Netherlands.

Oakley’s Mark Cavendish proved he’s all business as he outkicked his sprint rivals in the closing metres to claim stage one honours. Despite having his Columbia-HTC team controlling the peloton throughout the afternoon, it took a bit of improvisation approaching the finish for Cavendish to earn his 22nd victory of 2009.

Oakley’s Australian Simon Gerrans won the 10th stage of the Tour of Spain here on Tuesday, Spanish rider Alejandro Valverde retained the leader’s golden jersey.
The 29-year-old Cervelo rider outpaced three others cyclists, Ryder Hesjedal of Canada, Denmark’s Jakob Fuglsang and Kazakhstan’s Alexander Vinokourov, in a sprint to the line at the end of the 169-kilometre ride from Alicante to Murcia in eastern Spain.
