Bio

Fränk began his professional career in 2003 with Riis and Team CSC (which would later become Team Saxo Bank). His breakout season came in 2005, the same year his younger bother Andy joined the team. That year the Schleck brothers split the national championships, with Fränk winning the road race and Andy winning the time trial. Fränk finished the season strong with three podium places in the last month to end the season ranked 13th on the 2005 ProTour riders list.

Fränk’s greatest achievements include winning a blue riband mountain stage in the 2006 Tour de France which finished on the Alpe d’Huez, the 2006 edition of the Amstel Gold Race classic, and an alpine stage of the 2009 Tour de France, finishing in the sole company of his brother Andy and Alberto Contador.

In 2010, while riding Stage 3 of the Tour de France, Schleck suffered a triple fracture of his clavicle and was forced to retire from the race.

Frank and younger brother Andy Schleck (also an Oakley rider) departed Team Saxo Bank at the end of 2010 to join a new Luxembourg team called Leopard Trek.
