Kerri Walsh and her partner Misty May-Treanor definitely have a hump to overtake. And that hump is a pair of Brazilian Bombers. O Showdown: Beach Volleyball Stars Larissa & Juliana Top Walsh & May at FIVB World Championships in Rome
There was fierce firepower on both sides of the net. The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships went down in Rome with the powerful Oakley Brazilian duo of Larissa Franca and Juliana Silva facing off against fellow Olympic Star Kerri Walsh and her partner Misty May-Treanor. And as expected, it was a battle to the end. But the South American pair edged their American counterparts, 21-17, 13-21, 16-14, to claim their first Gold in the ancient city. The vibrant Brazilians lost twice in the World Championship Finals up to this year, including 2005 when they ran up against the wall that was May-Treanor and Walsh. They also secured a bronze medal in 2007. But this year, they were in form and a handful for anyone on the Planet to face.
