Going For GOLD: Shaun White Charges Into X Games 17 for Vert Glory, Inspired by Gold Holbrook Collection

There’s no surprises here. Shaun White is going for Gold.

Oakley’s multi-sport superstar is dropping into X Games 17 in Los Angeles on the heels of yet another glorious Winter X Games Superpipe Gold.

And there’s absolutely no doubt that he’s aiming to power himself back to the top of the Skateboard Vert podium in the summertime.

Although he will definitely be keeping it fun, as he does always, his ultimate goal is that shiny Gold medal. And if his past Vert Golds weren’t enough motivation for him, his brand new Oakley Gold Holbrook collection should do the trick.

Taking the retro-ish, sheer style of the super popular Holbrook (which was originally designed – at least in shape – with the help of Shaun himself, of course) – combining that with a sick gold frame and 24k gold iridium polarized lenses, and there’s no doubt where Shaun’s mindset is this Summer X.

Last year, he busted out a monster frontside heelflip 540 body varial (never before seen at X Games – or at any competition in general). Unfortunately, he came up just short of the Gold. But if anyone knows the competitive fire in this guy, they’d know that he should be coming out with a vengeance this year.

Don’t you dare miss any of the action – watch for Shaun’s runs this week at Summer X Games 17 – live from Los Angeles!
