He already had 20 X Games medals.

But Oakley Skate Legend Bob Burnquist hadn’t claimed Big Air Gold in two long years. Until Friday, that is. Make that 21.

The timeless Brazilian bomber launched his way to his third gold medal on the Megaramp – throwing down a massive switch 5 into lein rodeo to grab and retain the lead in the contest. No one would come close.

“I am really happy that I made my run and the judges felt it was first place,” Bob said, rocking his Oakley Factory Pilot Gloves – designed for military operations but modified for his protection on the Megaramp. “I am stoked about that and it feels great to be on top, obviously.”

Bob, who landed the first-ever fakie to fakie 900 on a Mega in his backyard last year, displayed his staying power as the leader of the sport he’s dominated for so many years.

But he wasn’t the only Brazilian creating a massive buzz in Los Angeles during the event.

Mitchie Brusco, a 14 year old super grom from Brazil, dazzled the audience – as there were rumors of a potential 900 being thrown for the first time in X Games history. Although the trick never materialized, Brusco took fifth place while proudly rocking Oakley gloves for protection…a pair he received from Bob himself when he showed up at his house to use his Megaramp this past year.

Yet another Brazilian from Team Oakley, Rony Gomes, proved to be one of the hard chargers of the night as well – taking fourth decked out in Oakley prescription eyewear, gloves, pads and more.

All in all, one amazing night for Oakley, for Brazil…and most importantly, for the legend himself: Bob!
