Oakley’s Sport Marketing Director – Action Sports, Matty Swanson kicked-off the festivities with a warm welcome that was followed by a video introduction to the Oakley snow team which held the audience captivated. Next up was the world premiere trailer of Seth Morrison’s documentary film The Ordinary Skier. To say the audience was blown away would be an understatement, as the trailer footage featured mind-blowing action in destinations ranging from AK to the Swiss Alps to BC.
Dinner was served buffet style with over ten different stations to choose from along with signature athlete drinks. At 9:30 p.m., Oakley’s Snowboard Marketing Manger, Joe Prebich introduced Shaun White to the crowd of over 200 private guests to make a special Oakley product announcement. Shaun then revealed the world’s first snow goggle to take advantage of Oakley’s revolutionary SwitchLock™ Technology; the new Oakley AIRBRAKE™ goggle with his own Signature Series frame design. AIRBRAKE™ blends unrivaled comfort, performance and protection with an interchangeable lens design that helps snowboarders and skiers keep up with changing light conditions on the mountain.
As Shaun left the stage, Shwayze let the music flow and the rest of the evening was spent with people enjoying the atmosphere among friends speculating about who this year’s Winter X Games standouts would be.
