Just two years later he won his first Winter X Games Gold Medal and has remained one of the most fierce and talented competitors the sport has seen. A career wrought with so much competitive success has not come without its obstacles. Simon has suffered shattered ankles, a broken pelvis and collarbone, and a ruptured spleen, among countless other less severe injuries.
