Solid Second: Shaun White Claims Runner-Up Skateboard Vert Spot at Dew Tour Las Vegas

Second place is never easy. Especially for Shaun White.

But Oakley’s Star Snowboarder/Skateboard Vert standout still had one heck of a year on the Dew Tour – ending with the runner-up spot in Las Vegas this past week behind Pierre-Luc Gagnon. By a mere half-point.

The two aerial beasts – constantly gunning for each other on the Vert Ramp in Summer X Games and Dew Tour, put on an amazing show, as always – throwing down insane runs.

But it was Gagnon who’d emerge with the victory despite a valiant effort.

“I had an amazing season winning golds at Winter and Summer X Games, but I had a hard time at Dew Tour,” Shaun said, rocking his Signature Series Oakley Eyewear. “I’m excited to head into winter and come back stronger next summer.”

His 91.5 score – racked up with combinations that included a 720 and three 540 variations – sealed in second-place to Gagnon’s 92.
