Lindsey Vonn is used to outside pressure. But last week at her hometown in Beaver Creek, the pressure came from within. Fresh off a resounding sweep at Lake Louise, she sought to extend her already commanding lead in the overall World Cup standings on home turf. And she did resoundingly – by claiming her fourth straight series race with a Super-G victory.
Last year’s World Cup battle is no more. This year, Lindsey Vonn’s dominance is unquestioned. Extending an already commanding lead in the overall standings, Lindsey swept her way through Lake Louise this past weekend, claiming downhill races on Friday and Saturday before taking the Super-G on Sunday with a time of 1:20.21. The latter victory was her 11th at Lake Louise.
