Snow or Shine: Women's Snow Team At Cardrona
There is one thing that rings true for all snow athletes is their drive for just wanting to get out on the hill. And this week was a true test of their spirits and Oakley’s women’s snow team was doing their best to work with the weather. After 4 days of waiting in their apartment in Wanaka New zealand it was time to get out and make the best of the weather.
Cardrona Alpine Resort is only 60 minutes from the Queenstown airport located off the Cardrona Valley road which links the towns Wanaka and Queenstown. With a complete freestyle superpipe, jib run and world class slopestyle jump line. This resort has so much to offer and your legs will feel it at the end of the day. With multiple high speed quad chair lifts and the recently opened Well’s Platter chair next to the halfpipe. There are many options to be had here.
The cloud layer was just low enough to limit your visibility but the snow conditions from the major weather disturbance was inviting. So Grete Eliassen, Marie France Roy, and Gretchen Bleiler were on the slopes and working with photographer Blake Jorgenson to get some images for the Oakley Fall 2012 Technical Outerwear catalogue.
While the famous blue skies of NZ were not flying today the crew was getting creative to make the best of the day. One of the best parts of working with world class athletes like these girls is their ability to have fun anytime, anywhere.
