Mountain Dew Action Sports Tour
Stop #2 of the Dew Action Sports Tour was held in the mile-high city of Denver, Colorado, and the Oakley crew once again produced some mile-high results. Oakley team riders Ryan Sheckler, Greg Lutzka, Rune Glifberg, Bob Burnquist, Sandro Dias, Fabrizio Santos, Juergen Horrwarth and Shaun White all put on a clinic of what skateboarding should be.
Skate Park Finals:
As usual, Ryan Sheckler landed every trick he tried and earned the well-deserved high-score and a first-place finish. It’s scary to think about what he’ll be doing in 5 years. With a flawless run, Greg Lutzka was good enough to earn a spot in the finals. Here’s how the scoreboard looked at the end of the day:
Ryan Sheckler, First Place
Greg Lutzka, Sixteenth Place
Skate Vert Finals:
The "crowd favorite award" for the day definitely went out to Bob Burnquist. After falling in one of his runs, he decided to give the fans their money’s worth with an enormous kickflip over the channel and landed with his butt on the board. He rode on his butt to the other side of the ramp and popped back onto his feet to complete the rest of his run. The crowd ate this up like candy corn on Halloween. Several 900’s were also attempted, but unfortunately none were landed. Shaun White followed Bob in the lineup. His run was near perfect and was deserving of first place. If anything, Shaun proved that his last victory was no fluke and that he is a force to be reckoned with in the future.
Shaun White, Third Place
Bob Burnquist, Eighth Place
Sandro Dias, Tenth Place
Rune Glifberg, Thirteenth Place
